# asin() math function in python by R4R Team

- asin() is python math function which determine the arc sine value of number in radians

Syntax-

math.asin(x)

- Here x should be a numeric value.
- it return the arc sine of x in radians.

Example-

asin(1) will return 1.5707963267948966
asin(0.5) will 0.5235987755982989

program-

import math

print("asin(1) : ",math.asin(1))
print("asin(0.34) : ",math.asin(0.34))
print("asin(0.5) : ",math.asin(0.5))
print("asin(-0.49) : ",math.asin(-0.49))
print("asin(0) : ",math.asin(0))

output-

asin(1) : 1.5707963267948966
asin(0.34) : 0.34691689752716176
asin(0.5) : 0.5235987755982989
asin(-0.49) : -0.5120897529341477
asin(0) : 0.0

-If we want to print the arc sine value of x in degree then-

program-

import math

#these value are in degrees
n=180/math.pi
print("asin(1) : ",math.asin(1)*n)
print("asin(0.34) : ",math.asin(0.34)*n)
print("asin(0.5) : ",math.asin(0.5)*n)
print("asin(-0.49) : ",math.asin(-0.49)*n)
print("asin(0) : ",math.asin(0)*n)

output-

asin(1) : 90.0
asin(0.34) : 19.876874070078834
asin(0.5) : 30.000000000000004
asin(-0.49) : -29.34058157502373
asin(0) : 0.0
